Hi Rick: It depends on the condition, and who wants it bad enough! Many times what we believe is in "good condition" can not be the case. Only a vintage dealer experience can make that assessment. Ive met few people in recent years who thought they had the real deal, only to discover that what they thought they had turned to be the correct year, but with tons of mods and a hodgepodge of parties that shot value tremendously. They bought the wrong people, research has not yet, I cheated! 77 P low going anywhere from about $ 800.00 to $ 2,000.00. There are some in this year have been more, but that is usually in the guitars that have a custom factory finish, or special guitars so that the number produced is very low. It IS American made, as it was until the 1980s that Fender was nothing on the outside. A little tidbit of information ….. Now … for ensure you have a 77, Heres what you need to know. Since 1976, American made Fenders have the serial numbers on the peghead. An "S" prefix is the decade 1970. An S7 + 5 digits S8 + 5 digits or do you want to search. The serial numbers on guitars were produced in 1977 and 1978.
