How much is a 1964 Gibson Firebird Guitar Worth?

I am soon to receive a 1964 Gibson Firebird Guitar, and I wanted to know how much it would be worth today.

It all depends on the condition, if it’s still original, and which specific Firebird model it is (I, II, V, or VII). You could quite well be getting a guitar worth $7000-$12,000.

If you need a value for insurance purposes, the best advice I can give you is to get an appraisal from George Gruhn of Gruhn guitars in Nashville (www.gruhn.com). Follow the directions online as far as what photos and information to send him, and for $50 he’ll give you a very honest appraisal (both insurance and sales value) of the instrument. For a guitar like this, it’s so worth it.

Good luck.

Greetings from Austin, TX
